1. Introduction

Welcome to VantageKey ("VantageKey," "we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website vantagekey.app, use our web application, or interact with our services (collectively, the "Service").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the Service includes:

  • Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and potentially profile information (like avatar url or full name if provided via OAuth or profile settings) that you voluntarily give to us when you register for the Service or when you choose to participate in various activities related to the Service. You are under no obligation to provide us with personal information of any kind, however your refusal to do so may prevent you from using certain features of the Service.

  • Derivative Data (Usage Data): Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Service, such as your IP address, your browser type, your operating system, your access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Service. We may also collect information about the device you use to access the Service.

  • Financial Data (Subscription): Financial information, such as data related to your payment method (e.g., valid credit card number, card brand, expiration date) that we may collect when you purchase, order, return, exchange, or request information about our services from the Service (specifically the Pro Tier). We store only very limited, if any, financial information that we collect. Otherwise, all financial information is stored by our payment processor, Stripe, and you are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions.

  • Data From Third-Party Services: We may collect personal information from third-party services if you connect your VantageKey account to them (e.g., using Google OAuth or X.com OAuth for social login). This information may include your name, email address, and profile picture, as permitted by the settings and privacy policy of the third-party service.

  • AI Feature Interaction Data: If you use AI Features within the Service (currently in development for future Pro subscriber access), we may collect information about your interactions, such as queries submitted and the generated output, to improve the features and the Service. We do not use prompts or outputs to train the underlying AI models unless explicitly stated otherwise or required for fine-tuning specific VantageKey capabilities (subject to appropriate anonymization or aggregation where feasible).

  • Push Notification Data: If you opt in to browser push notifications, we collect your device's push subscription endpoint and encryption keys solely to deliver event alerts and service notifications. You can disable push notifications at any time through your browser or device settings.

  • Cookies and Local Storage: The Service uses essential cookies and browser storage (such as session storage and local storage) for authentication, session management, and caching user preferences. These are functional and necessary for the Service to operate correctly. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking cookies. Most browsers allow you to control cookies and local storage through settings, but disabling them may affect the availability and functionality of the Service.

While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.

8. Policy for Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 18. Our Terms of Service require users to be at least 18 years old. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 18 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 18, please contact us.

9. Links to Other Websites

The Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site.
